Juan Salgado
Juan Salgado has over three decades of experience in community development, public finance and affordable housing. He currently serves the Executive Director of the Phoenix IDA. He has a national reputation in developing creative financing structures that result in jobs, housing and community development in traditionally underserved markets. He is highly respected for his leadership in bringing public and private entities together to address issues in education, housing and employment for poor communities. As a volunteer, Juan has served as past chairman and president of the American Banker’s Association Community Steering Committee, co-chair of the Fannie Mae national Housing Impact Advisory Council, and Phoenix IDA and Phoenix Commission on Housing and Neighborhoods. He also has served as a member of the Arizona Housing Commission Task Force on Tax Exempt Financing. In March 2016, Juan was named one of the Top Minority Business leaders by Arizona Business Magazine. In 2015, the Council of Development Finance Agencies honored him with the Excellence Award for Leadership. In 2014, the Arizona Capitol Times presented Salgado with the Economic Development Leader of the Year Award. Juan has been a leader in the community development, public finance and affordable housing arenas for over thirty years. During this time, his efforts have concentrated on helping the poor communities which are generally underserved and underrepresented.
