The APS Center for Culture and Understanding, provides the means to foster and strengthen civic engagement by promoting a greater understanding of inter-group relatins within Arizona. The Center plays a key role as a thought-generator by building partnerships for peace on social, cultural and diversity issues. Significant activities of the Center to promote its mission includes hosting an annual leadership event, "Tour of Understanding," giving leaders an opportunity to exchange ideas, obtaining hands-on experiences and actively discussing inter-group relations in small-group settings and forums on contemporary issues impacting diversity. Valle del Sol's annual Latino-Jewish Seder, co-hosted with the American Jewish Committee-Phoenix, is also an activity of the Center.
