Funds to support implementation of telehealth agency wide.

Phoenix, AZ – Valle del Sol, a nonprofit organization delivering culturally relevant integrated healthcare and diverse leadership development, is pleased to announce a grant from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust in the amount of $350,000. Thanks to this financial investment, Valle del Sol will be rolling out telehealth to patients throughout Maricopa and Pinal County in the summer of 2020.

“Telehealth is truly the future of Valle del Sol. Barriers like transportation, appointment availability and location will be less of an impediment in this new model,” says Lynne Emmons, Chief Operations Officer. “The commitment made on behalf of Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust will allow Valle del Sol to build a technological framework to provide telehealth services to thousands of patients. The funds will be used to move Valle del Sol to a fully cloud based system as well as allow us to refresh the hardware and software our frontline staff utilize to serve patients.”

With telehealth, patients can not only look forward to accessing their Valle del Sol care providers from anywhere with internet access, they will enjoy minimized wait times and expanded services. Telehealth also allows the agency to reach more people in areas that are experiencing significant growth, such as the West Valley.

“This is an exciting undertaking for our patients and staff. We are grateful to call Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust our partner as we embark on the next 50 years of creating healthier communities,” says Valle del Sol President Kurt Sheppard.
