Mike Renaud (Pronounced “Reno”) is the President & CEO of Valle del Sol. He has 24 years of experience in the health and human services field.
Mike started his career in healthcare as a case manager for people with complex medical needs, the medically fragile and individuals with disabilities. Mike joined New Mexico’s largest FQHC system, Presbyterian Medical Services, in 2006. Presbyterian has over 50 health centers, 1,300 employees and provides over 500,000 visits per year for 85,000 patients. During his 15 years at Presbyterian, Mike held a series of progressively escalating leadership roles. He served as a Clinic Director, Regional Director, Chief Strategy Officer and finally Vice President of Quality & Patient Engagement. As VP, Mike was responsible for clinical quality improvement, value- based purchasing, population health & care coordination, patient contact center/outreach, accreditation, customer satisfaction, patient safety, and the organization’s marketing department. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike served as the co-chair of the company’s COVID response team, the chair of the COVID-19 testing team and the co-chair of the COVID-19 vaccination team.
Mike relocated to Hawai’i to join Hana Health, a FQHC in a remote village on Maui, as Chief Operating Officer. Mike spearheaded Hana Health’s COVID-19 response, including community response to major outbreaks in the remote village. Mike implemented OB/GYN services, pediatric dentistry, outpatient physical therapy, a comprehensive diabetic care program and clinical social work in the public school.
Mike served on the Quality Improvement Advisory Board for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a graduate of Leadership San Juan and Leadership New Mexico. Mike was a senior mentor in the Hawai’i Young Healthcare Professionals program. Mike earned his undergraduate degree from University of New Mexico and his MPH from New Mexico State.
